It's an exciting time here in Cruachan County as we welcome Michelle McAnally to the band on drums and percussion.
Joining Nige to form a formidable rhythm section, Michelle joins us all the way from the Mississippi Delta. Finally, the band has its token American and can proudly be called "AmeriCeilidh" - a blend inspired by the music of both America and Scotland.
Michelle has played percussion and drums with country, blues and rock bands for more than 15 years, and since moving to Oban five years ago to marry Rab, she has added the bodhrán to her bag of tricks. But with Hollow Mountain she is back to her musical roots, bringing a decidedly juke joint meets honky tonk feel to the band's setlist.
After debuting with the band at a live music private function in Shotts, Michelle has played with us at Lord of the Isles and at the Wild West Gala at the Mermaid Bar in Southerness, Dumfries and the response from the audiences have been unanimous- Michelle's addition to the band has taken our game up a notch and is sure to get the crowds dancing from the very first beat.
