The Hollow Mountain String Band are supporting local charity Hope Kitchen at a dinner this evening in The Barn Bar, Lerags. Unfortunately Nigel, our bass player, is under the weather, but the rest of us will be gettin' the folks hootin' and hollerin' through the night with our usual blend of bluegrass, blues, old time, country and western swing.

Here's an introduction to Hope Kitchen (from their website):

H.O.P.E. (Help. Our. People. Eat.) was founded in October 2009 by a group of three friends who lived in Oban – Jess McPhee, Iona MacMillan and Davey Livingston. They recognised the need to reach out to vulnerable people who were affected by homelessness, alcohol and drug addiction and mental health issues and so formed a steering committee along with another four interested people. H.O.P.E. began in November 2009 offering a meal, fellowship and support on a Wednesday and Saturday evening 7-9pm in the Salvation Army Hall.

So if you're in the area, come along and support this great cause and hear some great music!

Hollow Mountain String Band

A fine foot stompin' blend of Americana & Scottish music based in Argyll!

We are a high energy band bringing you a lively mix of originals and covers, covering country, pop, old time and traditional that bridges the gap between Scottish and Americana music, along with an electrifying live show that gets the crowds on the dance floor. It's AmeriCeilidh!

"The music was amazing and so real - everyone thoroughly enjoyed every minute and the band's humour added to the special performance. We'd be happy to welcome them back any time and would highly recommend anyone else booking." Jenn Tapner, Mermaid Leisure Park

"The musical talent, energetic performances, customer interaction and fantastic array of songs make this band a must to book." Wil Craig, Lord of the Isles bar & restaurant, Craobh Haven.

"If HMSB were a beer we know it would probably be the best (fizzy fun) lager in the world. Book em!" -Campbell Cameron, Victory Hall Gigs, Benderloch
